Questions, answered
A few things people often want to know before reaching out.
What can I expect from the first session?
Your first appointment is a 60-minute diagnostic intake. Together we'll explore what brings you in, review relevant history, identify your strengths, and clarify your goals so you leave with a clear sense of direction.
Do you offer in-person and virtual sessions?
Yes. Sessions are available in person at the Wakefield, RI office and virtually by secure video throughout Rhode Island, so you can choose what feels most comfortable and convenient.
What approaches do you use?
Sessions are tailored to you and draw on elements of several evidence-based approaches — including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Rather than following any single model rigidly, I bring in the tools and skills from each that best fit your goals.
Do you take insurance?
Yes — Metanoia is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of RI, Medicaid, Neighborhood Health Plan of RI, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, and Harvard Pilgrim. Private-pay options are also available.
How do I get started?
The easiest first step is a free 15-minute consultation. You can book online or reach out by phone or email, and we'll find a time that works for you.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule so the time can be offered to another client. Details are reviewed during your consultation and intake.
